Who is required to have a TEA ID?

You must register with the TEA if you meet one of the following criteria:

• You are fulfilling the program requirements of an SBEC-approved Texas educator preparation program.
• You are fully certified as an educator by a state other than Texas or a country other than the United States and you are seeking a Texas standard educator certificate after a review of your credentials by the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
• You hold a valid Texas standard, lifetime, or one-year teacher certificate and you are seeking an additional classroom teaching certificate.
• You are seeking to obtain a temporary teacher certificate after a review of your transcript(s) by the TEA.

• You are seeking to demonstrate content mastery as a charter school teacher.
